Saltwater Fishing License

Shoreline Fishing License Free to Residents, Beginning July 1. The shoreline fishing license for Florida residents to catch saltwater fish from shore or a structure affixed to shore cost $9 last year. This year, it’s free as of July 1st as the Legislature repealed the license fee in the past session. The license requirement was retained to prevent  more costly federal fees. If you get the license by phone or internet you will have to pay a convenience fee of $2.31 at www.fl.wildlifelicense.com or $3.33 at 888-FISH FLORIDA (888-347-4356). Only Florida residents qualify. Fishing from a boat, or land or structure accessible only by boat requires a regular saltwater fishing license: $17 for residents; nonresidents: $17 for three days, $30 for seven days, or $47 per year. There are some exemptions to license requirements. More information at MyFWC.com/License, or call 904-209-2250.

Hunting / Fishing Permit Changes – Due to changes in Florida legislation, as of 07/01/10 there will be increases to hunting and fishing permits for both residents and non-Florida residents. There is also a new deer hunting permit. Find out more about Licensing, Permits and Fees and the Florida Fish & Wildlife Conservation Commission and see the new fee schedule, here.
